Urban Blue: From Bricks to Tiles

In Urban Blue – From Bricks to Tiles, two worlds meet: the centuries-old craft of Delft Blue and the expressive energy of street art. The exhibition was developed in collaboration with STRAAT Museum and is on view at the Royal Delft Museum from 7 March to 23 August.

For Urban Blue – From Bricks to Tiles, Royal Delft Museum and STRAAT invited six artists from different parts of the world: Claudio Limón (Mexico), Keya Tama (South Africa), Madi (France), Ryol (Indonesia), Speto (Brazil) and Tja Ling Hu (the Netherlands).

In addition to the ceramic works, the artists also created a large mural on the exterior wall of the Royal Delft factory. This mural connects the world of street art with Delft’s cultural heritage and makes the project visible beyond the museum walls. In this way, the collaboration between STRAAT Museum and Royal Delft has also become part of the city’s streetscape.

The exhibition Urban Blue – From Bricks to Tiles is on view from 7 March to 23 August 2026 at the Royal Delft Museum in Delft. Click here for more information or order your tickets for the Royal Delft Museum.
