STRAAT x IJ-Hallen

The NDSM wharf in Amsterdam is a former shipyard on the northern bank of the IJ that has transformed over the past decades into a vibrant cultural hotspot. Where enormous ships were once built and repaired, you can now find a lively mix of creative studios, workshops, cafés, festivals, and street art. Its raw industrial character, combined with innovative initiatives, makes the area a dynamic destination well worth a visit.
In addition to STRAAT Museum, the NDSM wharf is also home to the largest flea market in Europe: the IJ-Hallen. Each monthly edition hosts hundreds of stalls offering second-hand treasures – from vintage clothing and furniture to curiosities, books, lamps, and much more.
A visit to the museum combines perfectly with a stroll through the IJ-Hallen. On the IJ-Hallen website, a combination ticket is available: for just €20 you can visit both the market and the museum (instead of €25.50). Please visit the IJ-Hallen website ror the market calendar and tickets.
