DUO Beyond Two Visions: A Spanish Dutch Creative Collaboration

-

DUO showcases ten urban artists who visually explore the long cultural history of Spain and the Netherlands. Five artists from Spain and five from the Netherlands have collaborated in teams of two to explore five common cultural themes. Each artist has created their own canvas, showcasing their unique inspirations, techniques, and vision. DUO can be attended with a STRAAT entry ticket.

Artists

The participating artists are Belin (ESP), TelmoMiel (NL), Musa 71 (ESP), Leon Keer (NL), SUSO33 (ESP), Mick La Rock (NL), Okuda San Miguel (ESP), Mr. June (NL), Irene Lopez (ESP) and Nina Valkhoff (NL). The artworks were created at STRAAT in the week before the exhibition opening.

DUO was conceived by SUSO33 in collaboration with Santiago Herrero, director of Cultural and Scientific Relations for the Spanish Agency for International Development & Cooperation. The exhibition has been carefully curated by SUSO33 and STRAAT's head curator, David Roos.

About STRAAT

DUO is on show in the main hall of our museum. We reside in an 8000 m2 former warehouse on the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam, where we showcase more than 180 artworks by 170+ artists from all over the world. The artworks were created on-site and most of these mind blowing visual experiences are as big as outdoor walls. As a museum, we provide the added value of context and information.
