Êxodo Terrestre

Ashes from forest fires in the Amazon, Cerrado, Atlantic Forest, and Pantanal; mud from the Porto Alegre floods; white clay and ant mound soil from the Munduruku Indigenous Territory; local soil; urucum pigment; and water-based varnish. For over fifteen years, Mundano has used his art as a tool for social transformation.

In Êxodo Terrestre (Earth Exodus), he reflects on a dystopian future shaped by climate collapse—one that is already beginning to unfold. The work’s dry, earthy palette and fragmented landscapes evoke a planet drained of water. Cities built in the fissures of the earth become symbols of survival in a broken world, making visible the deep inequalities—and urgent realities—of our time
